Background

PGA MOM logoEvery August since 2016, the NSO has hosted site visit week, an organized experience for policymakers to visit an NFP site. After receiving feedback from the network, we are excited to present our new site visit model – Member Outreach Month (MOM). During the month of May, sites will be asked to host visits with members of Congress or State Legislators, educating them about the positive impact NFP and/or Child First is having on their community. Network partners across the country will have valuable opportunity to build relationships with the policymakers and gain much-deserved recognition for their work in the community.

How it works: Our advocacy team sends out a robust packet of planning materials, including a toolkit, invitation templates, talking points and more to assist our sites in this effort and encourage sites to get involved in a variety of ways. Our team is ready to help assist with scheduling visits and brainstorming ideas for how to make every visit, impactful and meaningful for all involved.

Preparing for Visits:

  1. Register: if you are interested in participating in MOM, please fill out this short survey. After completion you will receive additional information from our Advocacy Team on scheduling visits and connecting you with your state’s Government Affair Manager.
  2. Attend our virtual training: we will be hosting a virtual training on 5/26 at 1:00 pm EST, the training will be recorded for all those who cannot attend live. Participation in the training will be required prior to hosting a policymaker or attending a MOM event. During the training we will review our policy priorities.
