NFP Launches in “Old Dominion” in 2012
The first Nurse-Family Partnership local agency in Virginia was launched in 2012 through the Western Tidewater Health District, serving first-time families in Franklin City, Isle of Wight County, Southampton County and Suffolk City. As the lead administering agency for the federal Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting program the Virginia Department of Health is committed to evidenced-based home visitation services that will support healthy development of children and families throughout Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition to MIECHV funds, the Obici Healthcare Foundation of Suffolk provides significant financial support to ensure the successful implementation of Nurse-Family Partnership in Western Tidewater Health District.
