  • In late December, Congress passed a year-end funding package that included a five-year reauthorization of the Maternal, Infant, Early Childhood and Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program. As a part of the reauthorization, the MIECHV program received its first-ever funding increase which doubles the federal investment in the program. The MIECHV Program has been foundational for states to build and scale their home visiting systems. This funding increase will allow states to build on that work while continuing to serve families in need of these critical resources. In addition to funding increases, the reauthorization included several important improvements to the program.

  • It is with great sadness that the National Service Office for Nurse Family Partnership and Child First gives condolences to the families of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski and her staff Emma Thomson and Zachary Potts for their tragic passing. Congresswoman Walorski has been a long-standing champion for children and families and the National Service Office was honored to work side by side with her on the reauthorization of the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting program (MIECHV). Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this devastating accident.
